Andrew Kipling "Kip" Nemir was called home on Monday morning, June 9, 2014, after a one-car accident on FM Road 1080 near Haskell, Texas. Kip was 51. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Haskell with Rev. Jim McCurley officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Haskell.
Kip was born February 10, 1963 in Corsicana, Texas to Jacquie (Cleckler) and Billy Don Nemir. He was a 1982 graduate of Knox City High School and attended Western College where he received his Associate's Degree in Golf Course Management. Prior to Kip's retirement, he worked at Nemir Medical for more than 28 years where he made many friends. Kip enjoyed visiting with customers and patients and especially loved visiting patients homes. He could be found changing light bulbs, having lunch, repairing appliances, or just swapping stories. He truly enjoyed his work.
He never took up a hobby that he didn't master. He was a professional archer, a remote control airplane pilot, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved teaching others and was quick to share his trade secrets. He was an antique collector and an avid garage saker - never passing up a bargain or an opportunity to barter.
One of Kips favorite past times was spending time on the family ranch with his horses and cattle. He spent endless hours building fences, hauling hay and hanging out with his animals. He was often called upon to take in livestock that no one wanted and nurse them back to health.
Kip never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He "made the rounds" daily to visit and check on family and friends. He had a sweet contagious smile and will be missed by so many. Kip was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He will be lovingly be remembered by his wife Katie Wooten Nemir of Haskell; son William Walton Cruz also of Haskell; daughter, Hannah Jordon of Hawley; his parents, Bill and Jacquie Neimir of Haskell; sisters, Kim Nemir of Haskell, and Kacye (Rico) Watson of Nashville, Tennessee; nephews, Rico, Brennan, and Cameron all of Nashville, Tennessee; niece, Brooks Watson of Nashville; and Paco, his beloved macaw parrot.
If desired, memorials can be made in Kip's name to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
