Andy Rodriquez, beloved husband, father, grandfather (PePaw), uncle and friend, passed away on April 28th, 2024, at the age of 75. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, May 3, 2024, at the St. George Catholic Church with Father Albert J. Devanesan officiating. A rosary is planned at 7:00pm, at the St. George Catholic Church, 901 N. 16th St, Haskell, Texas. Burial will follow services at the Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.
Born on January 18th, 1949, in Haskell , Texas, Andy was a kind and caring soul with an infectious smile. He married the love of his life, Frances Rodriquez, at St. Anns Church in Stamford Texas, and they remained devoted to each other for 56 years. Together, they were lifelong residents of Haskell, Texas, and raised five children who were the pride and joy of his life.
Andy had a passion for food, and he loved nothing more than cooking for his family and friends. He always ensured everyone was fed and happy before sitting down to enjoy a meal. He was also an avid golfer, often found on the course with his friends and family, enjoying the sunshine and competition.
Andy was proud of his show place lovingly known as 'The Garage', where many memories and experiences had been shared. His family and friends are so grateful to had shared in those moments with Andy, and appreciative for the place that had brought them all together.
Andy was known for his lively spirit and natural ease on the dance floor. He loved to sing and could often be heard belting out a tune from 'Hang On Sloopy' to 'Tennessee Whiskey". He also had a unique sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He had a way with playful words, and his favorite words and phrases included "petrified," "mylanta," "FTC," "it just came out," and "reverse psychology." Most of all, he loved to be surrounded by the people he loved and cared about.
Andy is preceded in death by his father and mother, Maximino and Felicita Rodriquez, and brothers Mac Rodriquez, Tony Rodriquez, Jose Rodriquez, Trinidad Rodriquez and Danny Rodriquez, and numerous extended family members.
Andy is survived by his wife, Frances Rodriquez, five children, sons Steven Rodriquez and wife Patty, Johnny Rodriquez and wife Tatiana, daughters Teresa Rodriquez, Cynthia Brzozowski and husband Brian, and Lisa Rodriquez and David Lisle.
He is also survived by 12 grandkids, Jackie Rosales and husband Ronie, Alexis Chavez and Jacob, Priscilla Zamora and husband Humberto, Haley Chavez and Jordan, Maegan Aguilar and husband David, Baylee Rodriquez and Jeremy, Dakota Silvas and wife Harley, Dylan Rodriquez, Gavin Brzozowski, Bella Brzozowski, Marissa Rodriquez, and Carina Rodriquez. In addition, he is survived by 12 great-grandkids, Olivia, Paisley, Sophia, EJ, Grayson, Jeremy, Robbie, Catalina, Ashanti (Beth), Karlo, Maddox (Maddik), Ruthie, and Jace, and baby Aguilar.
Numerous extended family members and friends survive Andy. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
He was the only man that could exchange his hot sauce for different services that he needed.
He was employed by Smith Family Funeral Homes for 2 hours then fired for drinking on the job.
