Anita Jo Speck, 73, a former resident of Rochester, TX, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020. A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the First Baptist Church, Rochester. Burial will follow services at Rochester Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Monday, February 3, 2020 at the funeral home, 200 S. Lincoln Ave, Rochester, TX.

Anita was born December 20, 1946 in Haskell to Julia (Coker) and Thomas Lindsey Cox. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rochester and loved quilting. Anita also enjoyed playing video games, cards, and dominoes.

She is survived by her daughter, Melody Speck; Son, Corky Speck and wife Ruby; two granddaughters, Emily Speck and Avery Gallemore; grandson, Christian Speck; brother, Walter Cox; sister, Linda Camp; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Julia Cox; father, Thomas Cox; husband, Vernon Royce Speck; and two sisters, Wanda Owens, and Yvonne King.
