Anne Allen

Anne Allen, 97, a longtime resident of Knox City, Texas, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024. A memorial graveside will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Benjamin Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Schrader officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.

Anne was born November 20, 1926 in Benjamin, Texas to Zell (Morehouse) and Alton Barton.  In 1945, she married Daniel Lee "Danny" Allen in Liberal, Kansas. They were married for 76 years until his passing in 2021. She made wreath's for Christmas and Easter gifts. She was a beautiful seamstress that could sew anything. She also was a fabulous cook. Anne was a member of the First Methodist Church in Knox City.

She is survived by her son, Tim Allen of Knox City; daughter, Vicki Stephens of Little Elm, Texas; four grandchildren, Shelly Stephens, Lauralea Lundquist, Timothy Jered Allen, and Todd Allen; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Zell Barton; husband, Daniel "Danny" Allen; and brother Joe Barton.
