Delores Anne Underwood, longtime resident of Knox City, Texas passed away late Saturday evening, July 12, 2014, at Munday Nursing Home in Munday, Texas. She was 79. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Knox City with Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Anne was born October 4, 1934, west of O'Brien, Texas in Haskell County to Ruth (Corley) and Elmer Emmit Underwood. Anne was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. She loved the land and farming it. She enjoyed years of working with farmers and ranchers in Knox and Haskell County, through the ASCS office and all of her 2nd family at Citizens State Bank.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Elmer Underwood, brother; Murray Underwood, and sister; Watt Morrow.
Anne is survived by her sister; Lou Hodges of Graham, Texas, nieces and nephews; Donna and Jim Baca of Waco, Texas, Johnie Wooldridge, Amanda and Larry Chestnut, and Jay and LeAnne Hodges all of Graham, Texas, Jackie and Gait Morrow of Old Glory, Texas, George and Milessa Hodges of Perrin, Texas, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
