Anthony Cole Moreno

Anthony Cole Moreno, 25, of Stamford, TX, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the St. George Catholic Church, Haskell with Father John Perikomalayil officiating. Burial will follow services at Highland Cemetery, Stamford under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell. A rosary is planned for 7:00p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the St. George Catholic Church, 901 N. 16th St., Haskell, TX.

Anthony was born June 19, 1992 in Denver, CO, to Miguel Moreno and Lorraine (Young). He married Mealinda Abila on January 20, 2018 in Haskell. Anthony grew up in Stamford where he graduated from Stamford High School. After serving in the U.S. Army he lived in Abilene, and most recently moved to Knox City. He enjoyed fishing, boxing, playing sports, and playing zombies. He especially loved playing catch with A.J.

He is survived by his wife, Mealinda Moreno of Knox City; son, Anthony Cole Moreno, Jr. of Knox City; mother, Lori Young and husband Michael of Dallas; father, Mike Moreno of Stamford; two brothers, Michael Lewis Moreno of Abilene, and Jacob Matthew Moreno of Breckenridge; sister, Alisia Grace Moreno of Dallas; two step-brothers, Michael Shane Young, and Justin Tyler Young both of Abilene; grandmother, Guadalupe Rosas of Stamford; grandmother, Audelia Torres of Knox City; father and mother in law, Mario and Linda Abila; two brother-in-laws, Mario Abila, III, and Christian Abila; two sister-in-laws, Lezli Molina, and Lindsey Abila; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Tina Renee Moreno; paternal grandparents, Merced and Marta Moreno; maternal grandfather, Antonio Rosas, Sr.; nephew, Jayce Abila; and several aunts, uncles, and other family members.

Memorials can be given in Anthony's name to Colon Cancer Awareness.
