Attie Doris Burson

Attie Doris Burson, 93, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Rockwall Hospital in Rockwall, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas with Bro. Ollie Pierson officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Doris was born on February 19, 1922 in Haskell, Texas to Samuel Lafayette Parks and Clara Leona (Boatright) Parks. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Doris enjoyed playing canasta and loved making dolls, doll clothes and sewing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Lafayette Parks and Clara Leona (Boatright) Parks; husband E.C. "Botch" Burson and sister, Faye Stiewert.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Rosa Lea Melton and husband Howard of Terrell, Texas; son, Ron Burson of Abilene, Texas; two grandchildren, Kathy Melton of Lewisville, Texas and Keith Melton of Terrell, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
