Ava Deann Lamb, age 68, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025. A graveside service will be held at the Benjamin Cemetery Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10:00am with Rev. Joe Walton officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A visitation is planned Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00pm, at the funeral home, 210 Ave. A, Knox City, Texas.
Deann was born September 24, 1956 in Seymour, Texas to Francis Lloyd "Dutch" and Imagean (Nunley) Young. She attended school in Benjamin, Texas and graduated in 1975. Deann married Joe David Lamb on May, 22, 1982 (divorced 1986) and became a dedicated and loving mother to her son David Anthony Lamb who was born on May 22, 1986. She lived most of her life in Benjamin before entering the Munday Nursing Center in 2012 where she became a valuable resident who participated in all of the activities. Her pleasant personality and satirical sense of humor were well know and appreciated as advocate for her friends and staff members. She was always quick with a smile and funny remark.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis Lloyd and Imagean Young; sister Brenda Goleager; brother Michael Lloyd Young, and son David Anthony Lamb.
She is survived by her aunt Bile Faye Cummings, uncle Howard "Butch" Young and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of food or flowers a memorial donation to the Munday Nursing Center Activity Fund.
