Barbara Bailes Pratt

Barbara Bailes Pratt, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 81. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Benjamin, TX Cemetery. A visitation is planned for Friday, March 1, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Smith Family Funeral Homes, 210 Ave A, Knox City, Texas.

She was born in Freer, Texas on August 26,1942. She obtained a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and dedicated over 30 years of her life to the US Postal Service, where she retired as a postmaster. Outside of her professional accomplishments, she loved Red Raider sports and she was always ready to go on an adventure and attend her grandchildren's events and programs. "Let's go!"

Barbara was the devoted wife of James Lee Pratt for over 50 years. She was the loving mother of Aimee Pratt and Troy Pratt (Nicie Pratt). She was a proud Gran to five grandchildren, Danielle Steinfath (Eric Steinfath), Devyn Pratt, Tanner Pratt, Tia Pratt, and Gunner Pratt. Her great-granddaughter Scarlett Quinn Steinfath, brought her immense joy. She is further survived by her brother Garland Bailes (Edith Bailes) and numerous nieces and nephews and precious friends she cherished like family.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband James Lee Pratt, her parents, Worth and Birdie Bailes, her daughter Aimee Pratt, and her brother Randall Bailes (Lou Bailes).

Barbara will be remembered for her smile, unwavering strength, and love of her family.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness.
