Bert Davis

Bert J. Davis passed away on January 30, 2023, at the age of 83. His battle with serious medical issues in the recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the challenges and pain of the recent years, Bert was an inspiration to his family and friends.

Bert was born to Bart and Oma Lee Davis, on January 18, 1940, in Brown County. He moved to Throckmorton at the age of 9. After graduating he had a career working for the Texas State Highway Department and also as a contract pumper in the oil field. Bert loved to play golf with his friends, and he had a wicked sense of humor. Family was very important to him and his family loved him. He will be missed every day.

Bert is survived by his wife Donna; 5 daughters and their spouses; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his sister Betty, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bert was predeceased by his parents, Bart and Oma Lee; 1 sister; 5 brothers and 1 grandson.

A visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Throckmorton on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00PM. The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00AM. Burial will follow the service at Throckmorton Cemetery.
