Bertha Pearl Stephens

Bertha Pearl Stephens, 82, of Knox City, TX, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Church of Christ, Knox City with Mr. Jim Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow services at Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.

Bertha was born November 23, 1935 in Knox City to Carrie (Lingafelt) and James "J.F." Dunnam. She married Ed Stephens on March 7, 1981 in Elko, NM. She was a member of the West Country Club Rd Church of Christ, and Pink Ladies where she loved helping. She enjoyed cross stitching, and worked as a Department Manager at Walmart for 11yrs in Roswell, NM.

She is survived by her three sons, Jay Eaton of Abilene, Jerry Eaton of Knox City, and John Eaton of Lake Jackson; one daughter, Jeriane Eaton Taylor of Tahlequah, OK; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Lingafelt Dunnam; father, James Franklin Dunnam; husband, Ed Stephens; and son, James Lynn Eaton.
