Betty Hearn, 94, a longtime resident of Rochester, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, November 21, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Rochester with Rev. Randy Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow services at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Rd, Abilene, Texas, 79601, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00PM, Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the funeral home, 200 S. Lincoln Ave., Rochester, Texas.
Betty was born April 4,1928 in Woodson, Texas to Dilla (Shaw) and Keaton (K.J.) Wright. She married Herman B. Hearn on December 9,1942 in Knox City and enjoyed 78 years of marriage. She enjoyed fishing, baking and crocheting. She was a better fisherman than Herman without ever setting the hook. She was a homemaker and farmers wife and later she went to work at Haskell Healthcare Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Wilcher and husband Randy of Rochester; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; brother, Waylon Wright and wife JoAnn of Stephenville; and sister Ruby Walker of Munday.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dilla and K.J. Wright; husband, Herman Hearn; two sons, Melvin Hearn, and Jimmy Ray Hearn; numerous brothers and sisters.
