Bettye Alyce Miller Skiles

Bettye Alyce Miller Skiles, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, at 2:00pm at the Knox City Cemetery. Mr. Jeff Abernathy will be officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.

Bettye was born on April 24, 1936 in Haskell, Texas to Robert and Leona (Breeden) Miller. She married Willard Skiles in Haskell on June 4, 1953. Bettye and Willard raised their family in Knox City.

Bettye was a do it your selfer and a jack of all trades and she enjoyed golf, sewing and yard work. Her greatest source of pride and joy was caring for and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her husband in 2006; her parents; siblings, Robert Owen, Richard Cole, Sandra Yvonne and Melody Annette; brother and sister-in-law, Weldon and Estelle Skiles.

Bettye is survived by her children, Ceissia Zeissel, Pam Ward (Tommy) and Bruce Skiles; grandchildren, Kandi Miranda (Junior), Amanda Cox (David) and Cole Ward; great grandchildren, Loran, Natalie and Timothy Miranda, Kerrigan and Kellan Cox, Jack and Merritt Ward. Her beloved cat Charlie, special cousin Mary Miller Reed and companion Santos Espinoza. Additional in-laws, Peggy, Linda, Larry, Jimmy and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Knox County Hospital for the loving care they gave to Momma/Gran.
