Billie Fred Jameson Thorp

Billie Fred (Jameson) Thorp, 81, a longtime resident of Throckmorton, TX, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Throckmorton with Rev. Peter Parker officiating. Burial will follow services at the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton.
Billy was born May 10, 1936 in McKenzieville, TX, to Juanice (Green) Jameson and Jahew Jameson. She married Joe "Buzz" Thorp on August 6, 1954, on a ranch in Nolan County. She was president for one year of the Texas Ladies Amateur Golf Association and also served as a director for several years. She was a member of the Inner City Club, North Texas Ladies Golf Association, and West Texas Ladies Golf Association. Billie also enjoyed rodeoing and barrel racing when she was young.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Buzz Thorp of Throckmorton; two sons, Jahew Thorp and wife Kathy of Throckmorton, and Fred Thorp of Throckmorton; two granddaughters, Alex Thorp, and Tatum Thorp; two grandsons, Wesley Jameson Thorp, and Wyatt Jahew Thorp; and sister, Donna Ash and husband Joe of Robert Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Juanice (Green) Jameson; father, Jahew Jameson; and sister, Susie Wilson.
Memorials can be given in Billie's name to West Texas Rehab, Throckmorton School Library, or a Charity of you choice.
