Billie Marie Wells, 85, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away Wednesday morning, November 14, 2012 at her residence in Mineral Wells. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Throckmorton, Texas. Interment will immediately follow at the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Billie Marie Atkinson was born May 20, 1927 in Westbrook, Texas to Thomas Neal and Grace (Meressary) Atkinson. She married Coy Elden Wells in 1943. Mr. Wells preceded her in death on October 7, 2000 after 57 years of marriage. Billie lived most of her life in the Throckmorton area and she was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Azle, Texas. She was a beautician.
Mrs. Wells is also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Grace Atkinson; daughter, Linda Wells; and a son, Mickey Wells.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Larry Wells of Wyoming, James Wells of Grandbury, Texas, Randy Wells and wife Mary of New Castle, Texas; 1 daughter, Renee Chichester and husband Lewis of Wyoming; 8 grandchildren; and 1 sister, Jodie Harrison of California.
