Bill Don Nemir passed away Monday evening, September 8, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Mr. Nemir was 76. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the First Christian Church in Haskell. Burial is taking place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned for Wednesday evening, September 10 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 304 N. 2nd Street.
One of 3 boys, Billy Don was born March 22, 1938, in Roscoe, Texas to Lucille (Gordon) and Ernest Nemir. He married his childhood sweetheart, Jacquie Cleckler, on August 23, 1957, in Roscoe. The Nemir family moved to Haskell in 1978 where Bill was a respiratory therapist and certified nurse anesthetist and then the administrator at Haskell Memorial Hospital for many years. He later owned and operated Nemir Medical for more that 28 years. Upon retiring, Bill enjoyed ranching and woodworking. Bill was a member of Clearfork Crime Stoppers and a member of First Christian Church.
During his life, he enjoyed golfing, remote control airplanes, writing poetry, and playing various musical instruments including the guitar, the banjo and piano.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Ernest Nemir; his son, Andrew Kipling (Kip) Nemir; 2 brothers, Robert Nemir and Alvin Jack Nemir; and his beloved Aunt, Nellie Gordon.
Bill is lovingly survived by his wife of 57 years, Jacquie Nemir of Haskell; 2 daughters, Kim Nemir also of Haskell, and Kacye Watson and husband Rico of Nashville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Brennan Washington, Brooks Watson, Cameron Watson, and Rico A. Watson.
