Billy Dave "Pete" Kittley

Billy Dave "Pete" Kittley, Sr., 95, a longtime resident of Rule, Texas passed away, Friday, March 5, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, Rule with Rev. Scott Hensley officiating. Burial will follow services at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Pete was born October 28, 1925 at home near Rule, Texas to Ewell and Mildred (Guinn) Kittley. He graduated from Rule High School in 1943. He attended Texas A&M University before joining the Army in 1944. Pete married Thelma "Swede" Elizabeth Erickson on June 3, 1946 near Rule at the family farm. He was a member of the local Lions Club, Masonic Lodge 954, and a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, Rule. Pete farmed, and was a general contractor and he built many buildings and homes around Rule. He grew and processed certified wheat seed. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Pete is survived by his 2 sons, Billy "Dave" Kittley, Jr and wife Shandra, James Ray Kittley and wife Erin both of Rule; 2 granddaughters, Tre' Ann Krupnick of Virginia, Sara Heidenheimer and husband J.G. of Florida; grandson, Stephen Kittley of Sweetwater; 3 great-grandsons, Cooper Krupnick of Virginia, Zachary Heidenheimer, Ryan Heidenheimer both of Florida.

Pete is preceded in death by his wife, Swede Kittley; parents, Ewell and Mildred Kittley; brother, Jack and wife Margaret Kittley; infant sister, Mary Helen Kittley; daughter-in-law, Pat Kittley; grandson, Billy Dave Kittley, III.

The family would like to extend love and thanks to the Franklin family of Stamford for their care and love of Mr. Pete.
