Bobby Royce Hanson, 82, of Haskell, passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Bobby was born on June 25, 1940 in Knox City, Texas to Louie and Clara Hanson. He attended school at O'Brien and graduated as valedictorian of the senior class of 1958.
On July 25, 1959 he married the love of his life, Leona Louise Green in Rule, Texas. Bobby attended Texas Tech University and then began his career working in the auto body shop industry, opening Hanson Paint & Body in 1974. He coached Little League baseball and Little Dribblers for many years and was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Together Bobby and Leona built a very blessed life and were proud parents of two fine men: Bobby Lance Hanson of Haskell and Craig Royce Hanson of Clyde. Further blessing him were two daughters-in-love, Rhonda and Jennifer. Bringing even bigger joy to him were his five grandchildren: Dylan, Landry, Haley, Delaney, and Caden. He never missed an activity and was their biggest supporter and wisest advice-giver, often traveling to multiple events on the same day. He truly enjoyed family vacations to Possum Kingdom, Ruidoso, San Antonio, and Great Wolf Lodge. He also enjoyed golfing with his sons and grandsons, boating with the family, and fishing. He treasured his family and his Lord.
Bobby is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Leona Hanson of Haskell; his children, Lance and Rhonda Hanson of Haskell and Craig and Jennifer Hanson of Clyde; five grandchildren, Dylan Hanson of Camden, South Carolina; Landry and Delaney Hanson of Haskell; and Haley and Caden Hanson of Clyde.
