Bobby Ray Harrington

Bobby Ray Harrington, a lifelong resident of Throckmorton County,  passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025.  He was born to Willie and Juanita Kelley Harrington on June 12, 1937, in Throckmorton County.

He was predeceased by his son, Dwayne, daughter, Cheryl, and grandson, Brandon. Also predeceased by his parents, Willie and Juanita, and sister, Marilyn.

As a teenager Bobby started working at Abe Reynolds gas station. Many occupations followed: Volunteer Fire Department, farm hand, certified chevrolet mechanic, dirt contractor, welder, oilfield drilling/completions consultant, Throckmorton County Deputy and retired an oilfield pumper at age 85.

He is survived by daughter, Charlotte, and son, Dalton. Also survived by grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, Laura, Kyle, and Amy and great grandchildren, Calem, Keely, Deacon, and Madalyn and siblings, Donnie, Billy, and Darlene.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Throckmorton Cemetery Association.  A private family graveside service is pending, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. Informal viewing will be available Friday, February 28, 2025, Saturday, March 1, 2025, Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Monday, March 3, 2025 from 8:00am to 10:00am.
