Bobby Guinn Medford was born in Haskell County on September 23, 1940 to Zora (Nanny) Medford and Guinn Medford. Bobby retired from the Texas Highway Department after 25 years of service. He also worked as a custodian at his church, the United Methodist for many years. During his church membership he served as head usher, taught Sunday school, made coffee, and opened and closed the church services. Bobby enjoyed Bible studies and was a faithful christian. Bobby attended the first Cross Country Emmaus Walk in 1990.
Bobby was his own "handy man." He did many tasks of keeping up a home. He was skilled at making something useful and decorative from wood and other items. He was very organized with his tools, personal items and nothing was carelessly discarded until he was assured he could no longer use the item. He loved and cared for many four legged creatures and one goose. During his retirement he enjoyed time at the farm. He built fences for his donkey, Jenny Lou and her herd of sheep (Barbee sheep). Even bottle feeding an orphaned 4 lb sheep named "Bud". (The Critters) or the group enjoyed peanut butter crackers, carrots and bread. He took part in Christian Clowning. He was "Hab the Hobo". His character never spoke a word. He only used facial expressions and body language to speak for him.
Bobby was present at his children and grand children's football, basketball and baseball games. T.V. football was also one of his favorites.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Medford of Haskell; his daughter, Edgwyna and husband Henry Flores; two sons, Jeff and wife Martina Medford, Bobby G. Medford Jr and wife Kristi; sister Flossie Bates; step son, Vance Roberts; grandchildren, Kira Poteet, Travis Poteet, Jesse Medford, Kimberly and husband Michael Warstler, Tracy Medford, Ashton and husband Andrew Hall, Beckett Medford; step grand sons, Quintin and Corbin Roberts; great grandchildren, Zakarey, Lukas, Serinity, Adilene, and baby boy Paxton on the way.
Bobby was preceded in death by the mother of his children Etta Drinnon Medford; his parents, Zora and Guinn Medford; and his brother-in-law Charles Bates.
