Bobby Glen Stout

January 3, 1957 — November 30, 2019

Bobby Glen Stout, 62, passed away November 30, 2019 at the Methodist Medical Center, Dallas Texas. Bobby was born to Glen Stout and Annette (Oldham) Franklin on January 3, 1957. He grew up in Throckmorton, Texas and graduated from Throckmorton High School in 1975. Bobby attended Cisco Jr. College for one year and worked odd jobs around Throckmorton before following in his daddy's footsteps and enlisting in the United States Navy in 1978. In a class of over 450 recruits, Bobby earned the Navy League's Outstanding Recruit Award, and proudly served his country for four years, spending much of that time overseas. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Bobby couldn't wait to get back to Texas. After a brief stint working in the oil industry, he returned to public service, graduating from the Texas Game Warden Academy in 1984. Bobby served as a State Game Warden for 15 years. At the time he was the youngest warden promoted to the rank of captain. Bobby was proud to serve two terms as President of the North West Texas Field & Stream, a conservation club begun in 1928 that helped form the Texas Game Warden Association.

Bobby loved the outdoors, whether hiking with his family at Big Bend and in the Rocky Mountains, fishing with friends, or working in the yard. He enjoyed reading, especially Louis L'Amour books, playing 42 with his mother and kids, and visiting with family and friends.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Katie Stout of London, England; son Harley Glen Stout of Atlanta, Georgia; his mother Annette Franklin and husband Richard of Throckmorton; sister Lynna Ray and husband Charles of Springlake, Texas; sister Cindy Bentch and husband Ron of Columbia, Missouri; uncle Harley Oldham and aunt Bobbie Bailey, both of Olney, Texas; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his dad, Glen Stout, and his beloved chocolate lab, Doc.
