Carl Henry August Rueffer, life-long resident of Weinert, Texas, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015, at Haskell Memorial Hospital in Haskell, Texas. Carl was 74. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Haskell with Pastor David White officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday evening, February 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral in Haskell located at 304 North Second Street.
Carl was born December 6, 1940, in Weinert,Texas, to Henry Rueffer and Meta (Woelfel) Rueffer. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Haskell. Carl loved farming and his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Meta Rueffer and his nephew, Gary Ewing.
Carl is survived by his two sisters, Erna Quiram of Duncanville, Texas and Verlene Whiteley and husband Richard of Alvin, Texas; one brother, Melvin Rueffer and wife Ruby of Waco, Texas; six nieces, Taffy, Linda, Tammy, Dorothy, Karla and Emilie; one nephew, Tony; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
