Carolyn Turner Everett, 91, of Haskell, TX, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Haskell, with Rev. Dusty Garrison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Carolyn was born on June 11, 1930, to Elmer and Lula Turner. Carolyn lived her early years in Rule with her sister, Martha Ann and her brother, James A. Turner. She also enjoyed all her Turner cousins throughout the years . After her family moved to Haskell, Carolyn graduated from Haskell High School and attended Hardin Simmons University. She later married Roy T. (Buck) Everett.
Carolyn and Buck had two sons, Tim and Keith. She stayed very busy with work and attending many ballgames and other sporting events. During most of her working years she was associated with Haskell National Bank. She started as an employee at the bank and worked her way to become a respected director at the bank and in the banking community. She was also a member, and very active, at First Baptist Church in Haskell. Through the years she served on many committees, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir. She had a love for singing and music from an early age. For many years, she enjoyed singing with her friend, Delight Jones.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. (Buck) Everett; parents, Elmer and Lula Turner; sister, Martha Ann Johnson; and brother, James Turner.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Tim and Paula Everett, and Keith and Jill Everett of Haskell; three grandsons, Mik Everett of Haskell, Erik Everett and Evan Everett both of Lubbock; two great grandchildren, Drake Everett of Haskell and Calie Everett of Lubbock.
