Carolyn Janet Middlebrooks passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the age of 70. Memorial service will be held at Gillespie Baptist Church located East of Knox City 5 miles out, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2015 under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Private inurnment to be held at a later date.
Carolyn was born July 15, 1944 in Sonora, Texas to Melvin Clarence and Ella Ruth (Gamel) Parker. For the past 20 years she was a Knox City resident. She enjoyed playing solitaire in her spare time.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Melvin and Ella Parker; and her husband, J.F. Middlebrooks.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Christy Siems of Lake Dallas, Texas; son, Billy King of San Angelo,Texas; brother, Melvin C. Parker, Jr. and wife Laura of Sonora, Texas; sister, Betty Parker of Phoenix, Arizona; three nieces, Katie of Ozona, Texas, Misty and Jeanene; and her dear friends, Cheryl Daniel, Jan Frost and John Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Knox County Aging Center, 107 North Avenue East, Knox City,Texas 79521 and Pink Ladies of Knox City, 701 SE 5th Street, Knox City, Texas.
