Charles A. Pierce, 70, of Haskell, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Rule Cemetery in Rule officiated by Tex Cox. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Visitation is planned for 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Knox City prior to the services.

Charles was born July 21, 1943 in Stonewall County, Texas to Helen (Tribbey) and James H. Pierce. He resided in Old Glory until after finishing school when he moved to Knox City. Charles was a longtime Knox City Booster member, president of the Little League, and built the horn and bell that is used at the high school football games. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church of Knox City.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and James Pierce; and 1 brother, Don Pierce.
Charles is survived by his 2 daughters, Missy Lewis and husband Todd of Haskell, and Michelle Stanfield and husband Jeff of Knox City; 1 son, Nathan Pierce and his wife Maria of Haskell; 6 grandsons, Eric Lewis, Andy Shaver, Zack Shaver, Payne Stanfield, Keifer McNeely, and James Pierce; 3 granddaughters, Emily Lewis, Lacey Pierce, and Cassidy Pierce.
