With heavy, but healed hearts, we announce the passing of Christine McCarty Timmons, who peacefully passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 65 in Throckmorton, Texas. A family graveside service will be held at 9:00am, Saturday, August 1, 2026, for family and  those that feel like family at the Throckmorton Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 10:00am at the Church of Christ in Throckmorton, 310 N Minter St., with Mr. Bill Bundy officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm, Friday, July 31, 2026, at the funeral home, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, Texas.

Christine was born on November 25, 1960, in Olney, Texas to Mike and Catherine McCarty. Growing up in Elbert, she enjoyed the country life with her siblings and attended Throckmorton ISD.

Upon graduating from high school, Christine attended Midwestern University, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She earned a Bachelor's degree in speech- language therapy and a variety of Special Education-related certifications. Christine worked as a Speech Therapist, as well as a special education and early childhood teacher for 36 years and was known for her dedication to her students and community. She was given the Award of Excellence by the Masons of Texas and had multiple "Teacher of the Year" awards, as well as multiple other awards for teaching. Outside of work, she loved being at home with her family. Her interests were very simple but her family always came first.

The greatest joy of Christine's life was her family, but her favorite title was “MeMe".

She is survived by her husband, Chris Timmons; children, Cati Jean and husband Sage Fonseca, Taylor Anne and husband Kane Isaacks; grandchildren, Sage II, Zace, Ivy Rose, and Atlas; mother, Catherine Garlington; siblings, Bianca Goodner, Kirk McCarty, Michael McCarty, and Marty Neises.

She is preceded in death by her father, Mike McCarty.

Faith was the cornerstone of Christine's life. She found peace and strength in the Lord and lived as an example of love, grace, and service. We find comfort knowing she is now in the presence of Jesus, where there is no more pain or suffering.

Those who knew Christine will remember her for her kind heart, patience, and gentle soul. One thing everyone could count on was her comfortable presence and calming nature. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, faith, and service.

Though Christine is no longer with us in body, the love shared, the lessons taught, and the memories created will remain in our hearts forever.

She taught us that strength isn't measured by the weight you can lift, but by the burdens you carry with grace. Though her earthly battle has ended, her faith, courage, and love will continue to shape our lives until we see her again. We rejoice knowing she has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and is finally home. — Matthew 25:23
