Claude Brown

December 20, 1918 — June 12, 2012

Claude Arthur Brown, Sr., of Lubbock and formerly of Throckmorton passed away at the Lubbock Hospitality House, Tuesday evening, June 12, 2012. Mr. Brown was 93. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 15 at the Throckmorton Cemetery with Mr. Charles Willingham officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Throckmorton.

Claude was born December 20, 1918 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Claude and Susie Brown. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and married Trula Willingham on February 7, 1937 who survives. Claude is a member of Milwaukee Avenue Church of Christ in Lubbock.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Susie Brown; and 1 sister, Velma Smith.

Along with his wife, Trula, he is survived by 2 sons, Charles Brown and wife Judy of Lubbock, and Art Brown of Athens; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 niece, Sylvia Kettleman of Dallas.
