Cloriene Reece, 96, a longtime resident of Throckmorton, TX, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Throckmorton with Rev. Peter Parker officiating. Burial will follow services at the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the funeral home, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, TX.
Cloriene was born August 4, 1920 in Elbert, to Mattie Ellen (Weaver) Easley and Charley Lee Easley. She married Austin Reece on August 5, 1939 in Throckmorton. She worked as the Dietician at the Throckmorton County Hospital for 33 years. She was a member of the Lady's Sunday School Class. Cloriene loved spending time with her family and cooking for them along with many others around town.
She is survived by her two daughters, Zorina Loggains and husband Chuck of Brekenridge, and Jo Ann Glenn of Throckmorton; five grandsons, Kyle Latham and wife Christie of Brekenridge, Matt Glenn and wife Kori of Southlake, Jeff Reece and wife Pam of San Antonio, Ron Reece and wife Holly of Abilene, and Mike Reece and wife Holly of McKinney; 13 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and Charley Easley; husband, Austin Reece; son, Dan Reece; granddaughter, Tanya Gilbreth; three sisters, Flossie Riley, Allie Echols, and La Vera Cribbs; brother, Joe Easley; and two son-in-laws, Jimmy Glenn, and T.J. Latham.
