Cynthia Ann Slayton, 83, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 in Midland, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Rule, Texas with Rev. Robert Slayton officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned for Thursday evening, April 7, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home located at 600 Robins Ave., Rule, Texas.
Cynthia was born September 26, 1932 to John Reuben Kizzia and Ora Lee (Tyler) Kizzia. She lived in Rule, Texas and married Frank Slayton on February 14, 1953 in Terrell, Texas. She received her Bachelor's Degree in nursing as a Registered Nurse and loved her nursing job, worked until she was 72. Cynthia enjoyed reading, crochet, and loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bellevue, Texas.
Cynthia is survived by her three sons, Michael Slayton and wife Mary of Bellevue, Texas, Jim Slayton and wife Diane of Mineloa, Texas and Robert Slayton and wife Kathy of Bellevue, Texas; two daughters, Elaine Chaney and husband Paul of Midland, Texas and Kimberly Mansell and husband Bryan of Lueders, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and numeorus nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Reuben Kizzia and Ora Lee (Tyler) Kizzia; husband, Frank Slayton; four brothers; and four sisters.
