David Anderson, 72, of Abilene, TX, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Willow Cemetery, Haskell. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
David was born September 2, 1944 in Funky, LA, to Bonnie (Grove) and Carl Anderson. He grew up in Haskell, lived in Dallas for most of his life and recently resided in Abilene. He graduated from Baylor University with a Masters in P.E. and a Bachelors in Economics. He was an avid athlete and loved college football. He played football at Baylor and tried to attend games as much as possible. David was a member of Baylor Alumni Association. He also loved hunting quail and dove when in Haskell.
He is survived by his daughter, Tanya Ragland and husband Jim of Fayettville, AR; son, Chad Anderson of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Avery Norris of Fayettville, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie (Grove) Anderson; father, Carl Anderson; three brothers, Ben Anderson, Tom Anderson, and Darryl Anderson; and sister, Betty Brown.
