David Rex Hamilton

David Rex Hamilton, (62), passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 in Abilene, TX. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 10 am in the Rochester Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes. Wes Horn will officiate. Viewing will be at Smith Funeral Home- Rochester, Texas.

David was born June 10, 1959 in Haskell TX, the only child of Charles Ervin and Maudie Maxine (Walls) Hamilton. He enjoyed going to the farm with his dad, opening gates, moving hay bales, and feeding the cattle. At the Abilene State State Supported Living Center (ASSLC), he was happy in his cottage and enjoyed participating in trips and going to work. He had many friends in Rochester and at the ASSLC.

He is preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include cousins, Billie Ruth McBride of the Colony, Barbara Vandiver of Vernon, Carol Trueblood of Haskell, Jennifer Hamiltion of Mertzon, Clint Hamilton of Haskell, Amy Hamilton of San Angelo, and his guardian, Billie McKeever of Stamford.

The family would like to thank the staff at ASSLC for their excellent care of David over the past few years.
