David Jackson "Jackie" Gilleland, Jr.

David Jackson "Jackie" Gilleland, Jr., of Haskell, TX, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 1:00p.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.

David was born April 27, 1952 in Wichita Falls, to Dawn LaCille (Clifton) and David Jackson "Jack" Gilleland, Sr. David grew up in Tulia where he was very active in 4H and rodeoing. He lived and worked for many years in Dallas where he was a very well respected Crane Operator for Davis Crane Co. His passion was always hunting and fishing, and upon retirement he moved to Haskell to work on the family farm and enjoy the outdoors. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his mother, Dawn Gilleland of Baird, TX; brother, Gary Gilleland and wife Amy of Elgin, OK; two sisters, Deborah Gilleland Lenderman and husband Ron of Roswell, GA, and Donna Gilleland Smith and husband Donny of Baird, TX.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Jackson Gilleland, Sr.
