Dolores Ann Foster, 81, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Monday evening, May 30, 2016, at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016, at Willow Cemetery with Rev. Tony Grand officiating. Visitation is planned for Friday, June 3, from 1:00 p.m. until the service at Smith Family Funeral Homes located at 304 North Second Street.
Dolores was born January 9, 1935, in Colorado City, Texas, to E.H. and Edna (Wilson) Burnett. She graduated from Haskell High School, attended West Texas State University and Hardin Simmons University and received a Master's Degree in English. Dolores married James "Cotton" Foster in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1966. She taught Elementary School for 33 years; 28 of those years for Haskell Elementary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, E.H. and Edna Burnett; husband, Cotton Foster; nephew, Randell Lacey; and daughter-in-law, Shadella Foster. Dolores is survived by her sons, Craig Foster of Haskell, Texas and Steven Foster and wife Gina Foster of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Savannah Foster Powers and husband Brandon of Quanah, Texas, Kory Foster of San Marcos, Texas, Ashley Foster of Haskell, Texas, and Koby Foster of Balmorhea, Texas; great-grandchildren, Joshua Powers and Briley Powers both of Quanah, Texas; and brother, Charles Burnett and wife Joetta of Haskell, Texas.
