Dora Kretschmer, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas and most recently of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014 in Wichita Falls. Mrs. Kretschmer was 96. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Haskell with Rev. Kelly Pigott officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home located at 304 N. 2nd Street.
Dora Johanna Zelisko was born August 16, 1917 in Haskell, Texas to Mary (Peiser) and William Zelisko. She married Herbert Kretschmer on November 22, 1938 in Haskell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Zelisko; husband, Herbert Kretschmer; son, Harold Kretschmer; 2 sisters, Lily and Ella; and 1 brother, Albert.
Dora is survived by her 2 daughters, Dorinda Lane and husband Richard of Chicago, Illinois, Margie Hogan and husband Jack of Wichita Falls, Texas; son, Joe Kretschmer and wife Diane of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Frances Weise of Haskell, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Kretschmer are Tim Weise, Randall Weise, Larry Zelisko, Wilburt Lehnert, Ethan Hogan, and Derek Kretschmer.
If desired, memorials can be given in Dora's name to the First Presbyterian Church in Haskell.
