Dorothy Cox, 93, a long time resident of Haskell, TX passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Abilene. Dorothy requested that no services be held. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Dorothy was born January 19,1923 in Somervill County, TX to Montie Irene (Graham) and Claud Cornelius Muse. She graduated from Leuders High School in 1940. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1944. She married Glen Cox in Stamford in 1947. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Haskell. Dorothy loved her family and volunteering, especially at her church. She was known for baking and her cookies. She enjoyed reading in her spare time.
She is survived by two daughters, Jody Biba of Haskell and Nelda Rogers of Austin; three grandsons, Michael Blocker of Dallas, Jason Biba and wife Duste of Abilene, and Kenneth Rogers, Jr., of Austin; granddaughter, Christie Howeth and husband Collin of Knox City; three great-granddaughters, Gracie Howeth of Knox City, Eren Howeth of Knox City and Kelsey Biba of Abilene.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Lorene Bonner and Ruby Martin.
