Dorothy Wooldridge

Dorothy Jewell Loftie-Wooldridge was born August 18th, 1924 and went to be with our Lord in Heaven Sunday, September 15th, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, on Monday, September 23, 2024 with Rev. James Jackson officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes Rule, Texas.

Most people read about history, Grandma Dot lived through it. Having witnessed the Great Depression, the attack on Pearl Harbor, World War II, The Korean Conflict, the JFK assassination, the Moon landing, the Vietnam War, the September 11th attacks, and many other American and global events that took place within her 100 years of life.

She loved working puzzles, gardening, sewing, playing dominoes, cooking, and fishing. Dorothy was a loving woman and she made everyone around her feel loved and welcomed. Regardless of what time you came into her home, she would always offer to make you something to eat to let you know how much you were welcome into her house and her heart. Her laugh was contagious and we will all miss her. We love you Dorothy.

She is survived by her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-grandchild. Dorothy was a strong woman. She was twice widowed.
