Earlene Meinzer, 93, a longtime resident of Benjamin, TX, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the Benjamin Cemetery with Mr. Dennis Duke officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.

Earlene was born November 11, 1926, in Vera, Texas, to Ada (Robinson) and Gordon Cole. In 1947 she married Pate Meinzer in Seymour, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Benjamin. Earlene loved walking and working in her yard, and she always had her little friend Tippy by her side.

She is survived by 2 sons, Wyman Meinzer and wife Sylinda of Benjamin and Rick Meinzer and wife Patsy of Rhineland; daughter, Patty Tavernia and husband Bob of Gettysburg, PA; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pate Meinzer; father, Gordon Cole; mother, Ada (Robinson) Cole; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Memorials may be made in Earlene's name to the Benjamin High School Ex-Students Association.
