Surrounded by his family, E.C. Collins of Haskell, Texas, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, September 27, 2012. This kind, gentle man with a great sense of humor never met a stranger and reached out to many folks who needed a word of encouragement. E.C.'s four children came into his life when he married Ellen Neeley Money, and he raised each of them to think he or she was his favorite.

E.C. had many vocations throughout his life including Precinct 4, Haskell County Commissioner, and West Texas Utilities Company journeyman, but his beloved calling was The Pink Ladies Auxiliary organization which he founded with his wife, Jenny Brazell Collins in 1992. The Pink Ladies organization continues to influence and benefit Haskell County at the thrift store on the square in Haskell.

E.C. is survived by daughter, Cathy Money Poe and husband Robert of El Paso, Texas; 2 sons, Steve Money and wife Tammy of Haskell, and Mike Money of Houston; granddaughters, Sara Poe Smith and husband Tim and Stephanie Money; 2 grandsons, Matthew Poe and Joseph Poe; 3 great-granddaughters, Emma Smith, Brianna Stokes, and Keira Stokes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

E.C. is preceded in death by daughter Pamela Money; grandson, Miachel Money; parents, H.R. and Mary Collins; brothers, O.P. "Son" Collins, Leslie "Turk" Collins, Marvin "Bullet" Collins; sisters, Connie Tidwell, Irene "Suggie" Howell, Maudie May Hargrove, and Ruby "Teapot" Fletcher.

The family is grateful for the excellent loving care E.C. received from Dr. William McSmith and Memory Lane Assisted Living Center in Haskell.
