Faye Gray, 97, of Haskell, TX, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Weinert with Rev. Terry Sanders officiating. Burial will follow services at Willow Cemetery, Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 2:00-4:00p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the funeral home, 304 N. 2nd St., Haskell, TX.
Faye was born August 4, 1920 in Knox City, to Mary Alice (Floyd) and William Ezra Smith. She married George Gray on August 31, 1941 in Munday, TX. Together they lived most their lives in or around Weinert, TX before later moving to Haskell. Faye loved singing, sewing, and quilting. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Weinert.
She is survived by her two daughters, Georgia Turnbow and husband Woody of Haskell, and Judy Hicks and husband Chuck of Chandler; two sons, Lynn Gray of Grapeland, and Lee Gray and wife Polly of Midland; six grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Smith; father, William Smith; husband, George Gray; three brothers; and two sisters.
Memorials can be given in Faye's name to the First Baptist Church, Weinert.
