Faye Stiewert, lifelong resident of Haskell, Texas passed away Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2014, at Haskell Memorial Hospital in Haskell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Haskell with Rev. Jim McCurley officiating. Interment will immediately following services at Willow Cemetery in Haskell. Visitation is planned for Tuesday evening, September 16 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 304 N. 2nd Street.
Valeria Faye Parks was born July 24, 1927, in Haskell to Clara (Boatwright) and Samuel L. Parks. She married Raymond John Stiewert in Long Beach, California on September 4, 1943. Faye enjoyed playing canasta, gardening, and loved decorating for Christmas.
Faye is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond John Stiewert; and her parents, Clara and Samuel Parks.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Stiewert of Haskell; daughter, Terry Martin and husband George of Big Spring; sister, Doris Burson of Terrell, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Lindsey Thompson of Granbury, Texas, Scott Martin of Plano, Texas, and Stacey Martin and Shelly of Alpine, Texas; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leora Guess of Haskell; brother-in-law Leo Steiwert and wife Fran of Duncan, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
