Floyd Mcguire, Jr.

Floyd McGuire, Jr., 86, a longtime resident of Haskell and Munday, TX, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Willow Cemetery, Haskell with Mr. Gary Decker and Mr. Kyle Josselet officiating. A visitation is planned from 6pm to 7pm, Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the funeral home, 304 N. Second Street, Haskell, TX.

Floyd was born November 9, 1931 in the Roberts Community in Haskell County, to Alice Gertrude (Blackburn) and Floyd L. McGuire, Sr. He graduated from Weinert High School in 1949. He graduated from Sul Ross State University with a degree in education and taught math in Ira, Rule, and Knox City. Floyd also farmed in Haskell County all his life. He married Alta Josselet June 6, 1951 at Josselet Switch. Floyd loved playing dominoes, watching his grandchildren, and looking for a deal at farm auctions.

He is survived by his wife, Alta McGuire of Haskell; two sons, Mike McGuire and wife Jo, and Steve McGuire and wife Phoi both of Haskell; four grandsons, Paul McGuire and wife Melinda of Clyde, Cy McGuire and wife Jennifer of Aledo, Zac McGuire and wife Tiffany of Celina, and Cliff McGuire and wife Erica of Wichita Falls; granddaughter, Tillie McGuire of Abilene; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Bill McGuire and wife Marie of Mineral Wells; special nephew, Kyle Josselet and wife Melissa of Munday; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alice Gertrude and Floyd L. McGuire, Sr. and his Brother-In-Law Wayne Josselet.
