Frances Jones Chilcoat

Frances Jones Chilcoat, 95, of Knox City, TX, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 10:00a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Truscott Cemetery with Mr. Dennis Duke officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Friday, July 10, 2020 at the funeral home, 210 Avenue A, Knox City, TX.

Frances was born July 3, 1925 in Burkburnett, TX to Lura Myrtle (Rutherford) and John Arthur Jones. She married John Chilcoat on September 18, 1945 in Crowell, TX. Frances loved to crochet, and spend time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her son, John R. Chilcoat and wife Maria of Knox City; daughter, Gayle Morgan and husband Charles Pankhurst of Munday; brother, Charles N. Jones and wife Joy of Benjamin; sister, Myrtle Shaw of Seymour; three granddaughters, Elaina Mathis and husband Joey of Rule, Lisa Smith and husband Chip of Prosper, and Terri Fernandez and husband Carlos of Abilene; three grandsons, Mike Chilcoat and wife Misty of Richmond, RI, Jayson Morgan and wife Rhonda of Washington, D.C.,and Tony Morgan and wife Mari of Wichita Falls; 12 great-grandchildren, Cody Reece, Jason Morgan, Keegan Morgan, Colin Morgan, Cory Mathis, Lane Smith, Jerrica Morgan, Riley Smith, Kelsey Morgan, Lexie Fernandez, and Courtney Edmonds.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lura and John Jones; husband, John Chilcoat; infant brother; brother, Edwin Jones; sister, Winnie Sue Nall.
