Frances Norman Davis, 94, a lifelong resident of Rule, TX, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Rule with Rev. Scott Hensley officiating. Burial will follow services at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 4:30-7:00p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the home of Frances Davis, 921 5th St., Rule, TX.
Frances was born May 22, 1923 in Rule, to Ola Mae (Wilson) and Claude Frank Norman. She married Don W. Davis on July 20, 1943 in Rule, TX. She attended Mrs. Rutherford's Business School in Dallas. Frances became the first female bank teller in Dallas while working for Highland Park State Bank, and later worked as a Beauty Operator for 30 plus years in Rule. She was a member of the International Porcelain Art League, West Texas Porcelain Art League, Big Country Porcelain Art League, China Painters Teachers of Texas, and the First Baptist Church in Rule.
She is survived by her son, Don Mark Davis and wife Heidi of Houston; her daughter, Penny Allen and husband George of Houston; grandson, Dustin Allen of Houston; granddaughter, Chelsea Pacey and husband Matt of Houston; three great-grandsons, Will Pacey, George Pacey, and Archer Neager; great-granddaughter, Campbell Pacey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae (Wilson) Norman; father, Claude Frank Norman; husband, Don W. Davis; son, Brent Lee Davis; and two sisters, Martha Norman, and Patsy Davis.
Memorials can be given in Frances' name to the First Baptist Church, Rule.
