Freddie Mann Carver, 74, passed away April 25, 2016, at the Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Benjamin Community Center in Benjamin, Texas. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Visitation is planned for Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home in Knox City located at 210 Avenue A.
Freddie was born May 21, 1941, in Knox City, Texas to Odell Carver and Dorothy Virginia Carver. He married Jan (Anderson) on May 7, 1960. Freddie was a cattle foreman for the Spike Box Ranch, a steer superintendent and a bid spotter for the Knox County Junior Livestock Show from 1980 to 2014, a farmer/rancher and the City Council Manager for Benjamin, Texas. He was a loving and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Dorothy Carver; son, Ricky Taylor Carver; great-granddaughter, Paisley Antilley Laird; and brother, Travis Craig Carver.
Freddie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jan (Anderson) Carver; daughters, Tammy Kay Lyles and husband Mike of Benjamin, Texas and Anna Stasia Antilley and husband Gary of Winegate, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Ricky Joe Carver of Fort Bragg, California, Jacy Collins and wife Jara Collins of Munday, Texas, Cassie Wainscott and husband Cody of Raeford North Carolina, Tyler Collins and wife Kelly of Lubbock, Texas, Joy Lynn Pool and husband Kip of Benjamin, Texas, Tom Lyles and wife Micah of Amistad, New Mexico, Ryan Antilley and Kallie Antilley both of Wingate, Texas, Shelly Antilley Guevara and husband Lupe of Winters, Texas and Jamie Antilley also of Winters, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Bella Carver, Ashburn Carver, Talan Collins, Ryder Antilley, and Lexi Collins; brother, Johnny Carver and wife Patti of Taft, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Riley Carver and wife Stephanie, Lacy Curry and husband Jerry, Virginia Sneed, Laura Ann Carver and Isebell Sneed.
