Freddie Lee Chandler, of Throckmorton, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at his Residence, in Throckmorton, Texas at the age of 62. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Throckmorton, Texas with Rev. Jay Gage officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Throckmorton Cemetery in Throckmorton under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday evening, March 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 107 N. Austin.
Freddie was born June 29, 1952, in Olney, Texas to James Morris and Mary Gene (Forman) Chandler. He grew up in Throckmorton, went to Texas Tech where he played football. He built his career and family in Dallas for 40 years before retiring to Throckmorton where he enjoyed Farming and Ranching. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Throckmorton.
Freddie is survived by his parents, James and Mary Gene Chandler; wife, Holly Chandler; one daughter, Stacy O'Connor and husband Matt; one son, Brandon Chandler and wife, Katy; two grandchildren, Emily Chandler and Colin O'Connor; one sister, Linda Kay Sullivan; one step daughter, Tara Whitaker.
Memorials can be given in Freddie's name to Throckmorton School Ex Student Association Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 566, Throckmorton, TX 76483.
