Galen Kilgore

Willard Galen Kilgore, a lifelong resident of Benjamin Texas, and recently of the Munday Nursing Center, passed away February 5th 2024.

Galen was born January 19, 1939 to Willard Kilgore and Ozelle Draper Kilgore. Galen graduated high school in Benjamin. He assisted his father in the operation of the Mobil Service Station in Benjamin until his father's passing. After this he assisted his mother in the station's operation for a few more years. Galen was a member of the First Christian Church in Benjamin. Galen was a talented sketch artist specializing in comic characters. Galen was also interested in learning to play the piano and loved music.

He is survived by a sister Willa Cunningham and her husband Tom of San Angelo. A brother Gerald Kilgore and wife Bonnie of Des Moines Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Barbara of Florence Oregon.

Interment will be at the Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.  A private family service will be held at a later date.

The  family would like to thank the personnel of the Munday Nursing Center for their caring and attention during Galen's stay at the center.
