Gary Duane Druesedow, 78, of Henrietta, Texas, died peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:30am at the funeral home, 304 N 2nd Street, in Haskell, Texas, with a graveside service at 12:00pm immediately afterward at Willow Cemetery, 914 S 7th St., in Haskell, Texas, with John Kimbrough officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.
Born in Littlefield, Texas, on December 9, 1946, Gary was the son of Verna Ann Hill Druesedow and Henry Carl Druesedow, Jr.
He was a long-time farmer, rancher and registered angus breeder in Haskell, Texas. He served his country honorably until 1974 and continued in the Air Force Reserves until 1980. During Gary's active duty, he was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls where his passion for airplanes was born. While stationed at Sheppard, he became a member of the Sheppard Aero Club. His love for aviation became a bridge across generations, where a father's fascination turned into his son's dream. Airplanes weren't just machines to him, they were freedom, adventure, and the closest thing he could come to touching the clouds. Gary was also an avid hunter and spent countless evenings in a deer stand and cherished his hunting trips to the mountains of Colorado with his friends.
Gary was a 1965 graduate of Haskell High School and earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Midwestern State University (formerly Midwestern University) in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He is survived by his two sons, Harrison Klement Druesedow (wife Sarah) of Granger, Texas, and Dawson Duane Druesedow (wife Hayley), plus his cherished granddaughter Ella Jean of Wichita Falls, Texas. Gary is also survived by his sister Pamela Davis (husband Dr. Derrel Davis) of Hamlin, Texas, and nephew Tyler Davis (wife Hillary), and their two daughters of Washington, D.C.
Words cannot express the gratitude we have for the exceptional care and support that Hospice of Wichita Falls provided to our father in his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
