Gary Lee Hargrove, 52, of Throckmorton, Texas, passed away Wednesday evening, March 13, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton with Rev. Peter Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Elbert Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Gary was born May 22, 1960 in Dallas County to Gaylon and Mary Sue (Lancaster) Hargrove. He married Sonya Manuel on January 28, 1978 in Elbert and the two remained in the Throckmorton area where Gary enjoyed the outdoors, cowboying, team roping and watching old westerns.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gaylon Hargrove.
Gary is survived by his wife Sonya of Throckmorton; mother, Mary Sue Hargrove of Throckmorton; 2 sons, Cam Hargrove of Sherman Oaks, CA, Clell Hargrove of Throckmorton; 2 brothers, Stacy Hargrove of Throckmorton, Brett Hargrove of Burleson, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Those serving as pallbearers for Gary are Chad Hargrove, Calvin Hargrove, Reed Hargrove, Larry Hargrove, Bob Cox, and Richard Builderback.
Memorials can be given in Gary's name to the Elbert Cemetery Association.
