Genie A. Holcomb

Genie A. Holcomb, 81, a longtime resident of Knox City, TX, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 1:00p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Johnson Cemetery, Munday, with Rev. Mel Cure officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Friday, April 13, 2018, at the funeral home, 210 Ave A., Knox City, TX.

Genie was born January 11, 1937 in Munday, to Amerolis (Hutcheson) and L.C. Guinn. She retired from Farmers Home Administration after 30 years as a Loan Officer. She was a member of the Abundant Life Christian Fellowship.

She is survived by her two granddaughters, Chere Hodges and husband J.R. of Knox City, and Samantha Cummings and husband Robert of Paradise, TX; son-in-law, Mark Brown of Knox City; three great grandchildren; sister, Sue Rich and husband Joe of Garland; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Amerolis (Hutcheson) Guinn; father, L.C. Guinn; and two daughters, Sheila Chere Brown, and Simone Nicole Sealy.
