Geniva Ann Hudson

Geniva Ann Hudson, 82, of Throckmorton, TX, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Throckmorton, with Bro. Jeremy Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at the funeral home, 107 N. Austin, Throckmorton, TX.

Geniva was born December 29, 1937 in Strawn, Texas, to Vera (Cole) and A. R. Mayers. She married Tom Hudson on April 26, 1956 in Throckmorton, TX., where they have lived, on and off, for the past 64 years. Geniva graduated from Eastland High School in 1956 and in 1962 she received her Licensed Vocational Nurses Degree from Wayland Baptist University. She loved being a nurse and caregiver to anyone in need. Geniva enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and camping. She especially loved her trips to Ruidoso and Fredericksburg.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Hudson of Throckmorton; daughter, Gay Hibbitts and husband Pat of Woodson; son, Tom Hudson and wife Sue of Malvern, OH; 5 grandchildren, Ty Raynes and wife Megan of Abilene, Brady Hibbitts and fiancée Haley Clemens of Woodson, Allie Hibbitts and Patrick of Woodson, Elizabeth Hudson and fiancée Dakota Sullivan of Malvern, OH, Josh Hudson and wife Jaycee of Carrollton, OH; 2 great grandchildren, Gwyn Raynes of Abilene, and Avery Hudson of Carrollton, OH; Brother, Clarence Mayers and Wife Emma of Amarillo; sister, Jane Finley and Ron of Eastland; numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother Vera (Cole) Mayers; father, A. R. Mayers; son, Brent Hudson; and grandson, Blake.

Memorials may be made in Geniva's name to: the American Cancer Society, and to either the Throckmorton or Woodson Volunteer Fire Departments.
